Sharon graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with her Bachelor's in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. In 2024, she completed a Recreation Therapy certificate program from CSU Eastbay, and passed the National Certification exam to become a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.

Sharon began working with the City of San Diego, Parks and Recreation Department in 2016 for Therapeutic Recreation Services (TRS). In 2024, she became the Supervising Aging Recreation Specialist with AgeWell Services (AWS). Sharon has worked with individuals with a mental or behavioral diagnosis and older adults in community recreation, and in clinic settings in a short-term and long-term Skilled Nursing Facility. Sharon's primary goal working in community recreation, specifically with older adults, is to improve quality of life for all. Whether it is through adapting previously loved activities to current ability levels, finding new passions through recreation, and providing resources to stay connected and active within the community.
