Center for Excellence in Aging & Longevity (CEAL)
Our world is undergoing a historic demographic transformation. Older adults are now the fastest-growing segment of the population. In the San Diego region alone, the number of residents aged 65 and older is projected to double by 2030, with the most rapid growth among those age 80 and above. Nationally, by 2060 nearly one in four Americans will be over the age of 65, the population age 85 and older will triple, and the United States will be home to more than half a million centenarians.
This profound shift brings both challenges and opportunities. How do we create communities where older adults of every background can age with health, opportunity, and purpose while remaining socially connected, civically engaged, and economically secure? Meeting this moment requires adaptive leadership, inclusive planning, and strong cross-sector partnerships to fully realize the longevity dividend, defined as the additional 10 to 30 years of life many people will experience beyond traditional retirement.
The Center for Excellence in Aging & Longevity (CEAL) is at the forefront of this work, advancing healthy aging through collaboration with healthcare providers, government agencies, nonprofits, philanthropy, and educational institutions.
