Did you know that approximately 14% of adults aged 60 and over live with a mental health disorder? Among these, depression is particularly prevalent in this demographic.

Leading the discussion was Nancy Verdin, MSW student and Graduate Assistant for the SDSU Social Policy Institute. She discussed contributing factors behind the higher rates of depression among older adults and innovative community programs that are working towards addressing depression in older adults.
